A Salt Lake City Zwick Construction team is excited to officially turn over Camber to the owners in January. A massive and complex project, Camber is truly a showpiece for the company and Salt Lake City.
Camber beautifully combines rustic mountain dwelling with downtown community living. Between the six class-A buildings that comprise Camber, residents in the over 400-units have access to the finest amenities.
The largest building features 394 units. The structure wraps around a seven-story post-tensioned parking structure. Atop that structure is an amenities deck with a golf simulator, gathering spaces, gym, and bowling alley. It also boasts a pool/hot tub facing a jumbotron screen.
The lower levels of Camber also have unique offerings for residents, including a bike lounge/storage, ski lockers, dog wash, and business center. Finally, the inner units surround a courtyard with fireplaces and outdoor seating.
Such a large project did not come without its challenges. First, beginning from the time the shovels hit the ground, the team encountered unexpected buried structures during demolition. They first discovered unforeseen concrete walls, which led them to find more structures below ground. Removing these structures required significant excavation efforts and took several weeks longer than expected. Similarly, during excavation, the team experienced major setbacks with the massive amounts of contaminated ground water. Working closely with the City, the team was able to discharge the
water from the site using tanks and pumps.
Creative problem-solving carried the team through the end of the project, even with significant workforce shortages and material deficiencies.
The owners, residents, and visitors alike have expressed their admiration of the finished property. In fact, Camber was selected “Utah’s Most Outstanding Multifamily Project” in 2024 by Utah Construction + Design Magazine.
Phenomenal work from the Camber team!
