Long Beach, CA welcomed the luxurious, new apartment complex, OceanAire, in 2019. The project was completed by the Zwick Construction Irvine team for the owner, Lennar Multifamily Communities.
The OceanAire complex contains 216 units, along with a pool and fitness room, lobby, a 9-inch deep outdoor reflection pool, and three amenity decks on the roofs of the two buildings. These public areas are decorated to integrate modern features along with the beach aesthetic, since OceanAire is located only 0.5 miles away from the harbor, shopping centers, and the Long Beach convention center. Apartment units contain high-end finishes and features, such as WiFi thermostats and built-in USB hubs, luxury vinyl plank flooring, beautiful kitchens and quartz counter tops.
The structure itself is nine-stories. Three of these stories are garage space, some of which is partially underground. The levels of apartments units are constructed of two levels of concrete structure, then five levels of wood framing above.
While building the project, the team faced a few unique challenges, including difficult weather conditions and contaminated soils. Additionally, this was the first project that Zwick has worked on in Long Beach. Although these factors presented new challenges for the team, they were able to complete the 24-month project and please the owners with the results.
Congratulations to the Zwick team who worked on this project over those two years!
