As the Cedar City, UT population has grown over the years, the need for more space in the associated hospital has also grown. Historically, to create more room, the hospital remodeled various areas, leaving those parts as some might describe “hodgepodge.”
Earlier this year, Intermountain Health hired Zwick Construction to remodel a storage area to create more lab room, allow better technology installation, and maintain a more consistent appearance throughout the hospital.
To start the project, the St. George-based team demolished the storage room including cutting the slab and removing sprinklers, doors, and equipment. In turn, the former lab became the new storage area. Next, they installed new plumbing, HVAC, roll-up doors, cabinets, countertops, and more, culminating in equipping the lab with the best, state-of-the-art technologies.
As with all healthcare construction projects, this team was extremely mindful when working within an operating hospital. They immediately began by installing ICRA walls since the corridor was continually used by hospital staff. The team monitored dust and noise levels, cleaning consistently.
Congratulations to the St. George team who delivered this 1,400 SF project earlier than expected.
